I always wanted to make a fleece rug but was convinced that I needed a special heavy duty "rug loom" to make one so I jumped at the chance to take a class from Rowena Hart on making fleece rugs on a Rigid Heddle Loom. It was fantastic. Now I have made my own rug and have taught two classes showing others how to do this.  See pictures and prices below:

  You can buy the loom, Rowena Hart's book and long fleece here. Each loom comes with a 10 dpi reed, a sley hook and two shuttles so you have the equipment you need to start weaving.

The stand is very convenient but the loom is built with notches so you could work on it leaned into a table. You will also receive two clamps that fasten it to a table top, so there are three ways to secure it for weaving. 

A second heddle kit can transform the loom into a basic 4 Harness loom, all at this very economical price.
