Romneys are another old English breed. They are a longwool with wavy lustrous crimp. The fleece is a favorite of handspinners because its length makes it easy to spin, the luster makes it beautiful to dye and the strength makes it great for mittens, hats, outdoor wear, rugs, and items that get tough use. In the finer fleeces it works well for sweaters.

All of our colored stock are eligible to be Registered with the Natural Colored Wool Growers Association(NCWGA), except 451 above who is eligible to be pedigree listed and his colored offspring would be able to be registered. (S stands for single birth, Tw for twins, Tri for triplet.)

Moorit is the name for sheep that genetically have brown skin, brown tongues, yellow eyes that look red in the dark and all brown fleeces. In our flock, some variegated moorits fade but the solid colors stay the same and can deepen. The Romeldale and CVM breeds are the primary sources of morrit sheep.

Our Romney and Colored Romneys are registered with the American Romney Breeders Association. Our Lincolns are registered or eligible for registration with the National Lincoln Breeders Association.  Romney and Lincoln are both old English wool breeds that have strong lusterous wool. These two breeds have been the foundation of many of the American developed breeds.
